Serving through Food πŸ›πŸœπŸ

What does it look like some days running The Inner Shift Ekklesia??

One of the simplest ways Justin and I serve as Pastors is through food πŸ₯—πŸ₯˜πŸ§†πŸ²πŸ›πŸœπŸ

Recently we travelled to the Northern Rivers NSW and prepared meals to share with the families we gathered with along the way. Most of the time it was in other people’s kitchen too which actually adds to the experience.

There was no program and no agenda… Just delicious food, wonderful company, and the kind of connection that happens when you slow down long enough to sit across from someone and actually be present.

There’s something sacred about feeding people. Jesus did it constantly… at tables, on hillsides, in homes. He didn’t separate the spiritual from the practical. Breaking bread together was the ministry.

We believe that pastoral care doesn’t only happen in a sermon or the phone or on a Zoom call. Often it looks like chopping potatoes, roasting a shoulder of lamb and setting extras places at the table (sometimes you all just sit on a rug on the floor to eat and that’s fab too!).

It’s about making sure someone feels seen and nourished, body and soul… and Justin and I use our life force energy to provide that.

β€œAnd day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts.” Acts 2:46

This is what the early Ekklesia looked like.
Not a building. Not a programme. People sharing life together. Feeding each other.
Walking each other home.

This is what The Inner Shift looks like too πŸ’›β€¨
