Gratitude + Flowers πŸŒΈπŸ’πŸŒΊ

β€œHi from Bali” πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸͺ·πŸŒΈ

Our home for the next few weeks.

Have you been to Bali??

On our Monthly Connection Zoom call this week we discussed the the Canang Sari, the Balinese Hindu tradition… a daily ritual of gratitude and harmony to the Gods (God and its many manifestations).

Each morning in Bali, the day begins with flowers πŸŒΉπŸŒΈπŸ’πŸŒΊπŸŒ·πŸŒ»πŸŒΌπŸͺ·

These little palm-leaf baskets β€” canang sari β€” are simple prayers of thanks to the Divine. Through many names and forms, the Balinese give thanks to the One Source from which all blessings flow. White, red, yellow, and blue-green petals are placed with intention for the four directions; rice for sustenance; incense to carry prayers; holy water to bless. It’s a living practice of Tri Hita Karana β€” harmony with God, with each other, and with nature.

I love how the whole island pauses to offer beauty before the day begins.

And because the day starts with flowers, my daughter, my own little flower girl, got to be a part of creating a beautiful flower Mandala this week in Bali.

What an honour πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΊπŸ’–πŸŒΈ
